Meet the Kids

IMG_5373Amelia:  Amelia is a chatterbox Disney enthusiast. In past years, she was able to spend two months each year in sunny Lake Buena Vista, a welcome retreat from her home in New York, but now that she is a big-girl kindergartener, she is limited to just one month. During the long winter months, when asked where she wants to go for dinner, “Sci-Fi Diner” or another Disney World favorite is often the response. A big accomplishment during her last visit to Disney World was earning all of the Wilderness Explorer badges at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! She may be the only 5-year old in her school that knows about “diversification,” thanks to the Piggy Bank Game in EPCOT park, one of her favorites! Amelia plays Suzuki violin, takes tap, ballet, and acro dance, and recently started ice skating lessons, so she can be just like Elsa.

MK_MSBRCART_7050637906Tyler & Chase: Tyler and Chase do everything together.  Their first and still favorite movie is the Disney Pixar Cars movie.  They just spent their 5th birthday traveling to Walt Disney World Resort for the 19th time.  They love all things Disney and pride themselves (between the two of them) on getting the information right.  They love to stay on property, but have also done Disney at sea on the Disney Fantasy.  They constantly are asking when they get to go back to Andy’s Room.  When they aren’t visiting Mickey Mouse, they love to be outside running, riding their bikes and finding new and old parks to visit.  They also love to talk so this is the perfect way for them to share their love of Disney with all of you!

jackJack: Jack is a 6-year-old Star Wars aficionado. He loves to offer Walt Disney WorldResort video reviews on rides, character meals, snacks, and all the fun resort stuff for kids outside of the Parks. Aside from his expert tips for The Jedi Training Academy and Star Tours in Hollywood Studios, Jack is happy to offer advice and can typically be seen at home reenacting favorite vacation moments with his 3-year-old sister.

Screen Shot 2014-12-09 at 8.04.30 PMPatrick:  Patrick is our go-to expert when it comes to rides at Walt Disney World Resort. He is very good about eating all of his vegetables, to grow big and strong, so that by our next trip he can ride “the Yeti ride” (Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain). Patrick ‘s favorite ride is Kali River Rapids and his favorite show is Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. When we aren’t at Walt Disney World riding rides, we are looking at maps and ride videos, planning our Fastpass+ for our upcoming trip. Patrick loves Star Wars, lightsabers, pizza, cars, pressed pennies and playing with his little brother, Sean.

lori ketcherside sonChristopher: Christopher, age 8, embraces his Jedi side as light sabers streak through the house. He taught his little sister how to spell our surname K-E-T-C-H-E-R-S-I-D-E to the chorus of the Mickey Mouse Club March (M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E). While Legos hold sway at home, this former early bird loves to stay up late reading (surprise, surprise) anything Star Wars and play Kingdom Hearts or Epic Mickey with some “help” from time to time.

lori ketcherside daughterKylee: Spunky, dairy-free Kylee, almost 6, rarely awakens without bursting into song. A voracious reader, she often shops and even roller-skates in full princess regalia, complete with tutus, heels and tiara. Her Brave side is super excited to swim with stingrays although she doesn’t recommend cuddling with the jellyfish anymore. (Bad Squishy!) Meeting the counselors on her first cruise changed her perspective. Now she wants to explore “a whole new world” one port at a time!
